Based at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, the Hallé has won a number of prestigious awards over the years and is now renowned as one of the top symphonic ensembles in the world.
Murray Building Services was employed to provide mechanical and plumbing services for their new three-story building. The new building would be built adjacent to the historic St Peters Church in the northern quarter of Manchester and would provide specially developed, soundproofed practice and classrooms for educational development purposes.
Our contracts engineers provided all the building services for the new build including an air source heat pump, heat recovery ventilation, underfloor heating and VRF heat pump systems which would be controlled by a central BMS System.
One of the strict acoustic specifications was the provision of a closely controlled temperature and humidity system for the instrument store, to match the environmental conditions within the rehearsal and performance spaces.
The Hallé is now enjoying their fully operational purpose-built building that blends into the surrounding areas as if it had been there all along.
