Murray Building Services is proud to be delivering the full mechanical services installation for the new Nightingale National Breast Imaging Academy (NBIA) Extension.
This significant development will expand the hospital’s existing facilities, enhancing patient care and clinical capacity.
The extension will provide:
- A new patient waiting room
- Three additional consultation rooms
- Two new mammography rooms
- Two new ultrasound rooms
About the National Breast Imaging Academy
The NBIA is part of a wider National Breast Imaging Academy programme – a collaborative, national, multidisciplinary initiative designed to address the severe workforce challenges facing breast imaging services across the UK.
The NBIA is funded by Health Education England, hosted by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, and delivered in collaboration with NHS England & Improvement, the Royal College of Radiologists, the Society and College of Radiographers, the Association of Breast Clinicians, the British Society of Breast Radiology, Breast Cancer Now, and Prevent Breast Cancer.
Scope of Works
Our team is currently installing a comprehensive range of mechanical services, including:
- 2no. Mitsubishi heat pumps providing both heating and cooling
- A new heating system with fan coil units and radiant panels
- Cooling distribution to fan coil units
- A new air handling unit, supplied and installed in full compliance with HTM-03 regulations
- A complete ventilation system, incorporating smoke fire dampers and fan coil units, designed and installed to meet HTM-03 standards
- A new domestic water system
- A new Schneider automatic controls system, fully integrated with the hospital’s existing BMS
