Northern manufacturing and logistics hub
The former Cutacre surface mine in Bolton is now home to Logistics North, one of the largest and most successful developments of its kind.
A joint venture between Harworth Group plc and the Lancashire County Pension Fund, the scheme expects to deliver over £300m of Gross Value Added to the local economy in addition to over 7,000 jobs.
The quality of the development, together with the site’s excellent location at the heart of the region’s motorway network, has already attracted some of the World’s leading logistics companies including Aldi, Amazon, Lidl and Whistl.
Murray Building Services were contracted by the Buckingham Group to provide a full mechanical and electrical engineering design and installation package to six new warehouse/office facilities as part of their third phase development.
The £1m contract included the following services:
- A full energy efficient LED lighting internal and external
- Fire alarm installation
- VRF heating and cooling system
- Heat recovery ventilation
- Incoming mains services
- Domestic water services (including hot water generation plant)
- Small power/data installations
The project was completed on time and to the client’s satisfaction
