£2m building services contract for Surf Snowdonia

Surf Snowdonia Contract

High specification contract win at Surf Snowdonia

Surf Snowdonia is an activity centre owned by Conwy Adventure Leisure Ltd. The centre boasts the world’s first commercial artificial surfing lake.

Based at Dolgarrog, in the Conwy Valley, North Wales, the centre is expanding to include a brand new 106 bedroomed hotel, wellness spa and conference facilities at a cost of £12 million.

Murray Building Services were invited to bid for the mechanical works as a result of a long-established working relationship with the main contractor (circa.17 years) and having successfully completed a previous project at the Surf Snowdonia activity centre. They subsequently secured the £2m contract in competitive tender.

This large contract comes with a high specification including: a hybrid VRF (variable refrigerant flow) heating and cooling system, underfloor heating to the spa area fed from CHP (combined heating power unit), supply and extract heat recovery ventilation throughout the ground floor, centralised gas fired hot water plant providing hot water to all bedroom outlets and ground floor toilets and centralised mechanical control panel.

The contract is expected to take approximately 12 months to complete.

Murray Building Services has extensive experience in the leisure industry having provided mechanical engineering works for the Blackburn Northern Tennis Dome, Lancashire Football Association, Manchester City and Southport Football Club
