Murray Building Services (MBS) maintenance division was set up in 2004 to enhance services for new and existing clients in the public and private sectors.
Headed up by Operations Manager, Martin Smith, the now established maintenance division has gone on to successfully secure a number of contracts across a wide range of sectors as well as various other private sector businesses located throughout the Northwest of England, see examples below:
- Eric Wright FM
- NHS Property Services
- Wythenshawe Community Housing Group
- Local authorities Lancashire County Council and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council
- Manchester and Blackburn colleges
Maintenance contracts range from £1k to £1m per annum and typically cover HVAC (heating, ventilating and air conditioning) service reactive call outs, PPM (planned preventative maintenance) 24/7/365 support and remedial works.
Despite the downturn in the economy, the department has continued to win new projects including Halle St Peters Church Manchester, Capital Aluminium Extrusions Cumbria and Totally Wicked, Blackburn – all now benefitting from the peace of mind support that comes with an MBS maintenance contract.
During the last 18 months, a number of frameworks have also been secured for the Northwest including:
Reactive and planned plumbing for Lancashire County Council covering Burnley, Pendle, and Lancaster (July 2021)
Delivery of MS maintenance and day to day repairs for Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (Sept 2021)
New Legionella remedial works for the South Region of Lancashire County Council (January 2022)
The future is looking bright for the Maintenance Division which turns over in excess of £2m per annum. To support this massive growth and provide clients with a more efficient service, Murrays plan to invest in a new computer-aided facilities management system set to be installed in 2022.
