As a result of our continued growth, we are looking to hire a Commercial Gas Heating Service Engineer (Breakdown Engineer) and a full-time Admin Assistant to support our maintenance division.
About us
Murray Building Services is an expanding commercial and industrial building services and maintenance company with a group turnover of circa £8 million. We have been established for 20 years with over 50 employees, and resulting from our continued growth, we have two new exciting opportunities.
Commercial Engineer
The individual must have a proven background in BMS/building management systems.
- The ability to carry out fault finding and repair of Commercial plant room equipment. i.e. Boilers, Pumps, Valves, Vessels etc.
- Conduct Gas servicing in accordance with manufacturers/industry guidelines.
- Must be proficient with Boilers, pumps, valves, AHUs, fan coils, pipework, Burners controls etc.
- Other advantages would be Electrical control knowledge, Oil experience and LPG.
You will be working within facilities such as commercial, corporate, industrial, retail and governmental (schools/medical)
Required skills and qualifications
- City & Guilds, NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
- ACS qualifications CCN1, CPA1, CEN1, HTR1, WAT1, CKR1,CONLPGPD, CODC1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CORT1, CDGA1.
- Unvented cylinders.
- Current full UK driving licence.
- You will also need to undertake a DBS check.
- Good general numeracy and literacy.
- Good time management
- Required technical skills.
- Good knowledge of the current industry.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends on a call-out rota.

Administrative Assistant
The successful candidate will support our engineers with the following:
- Handling incoming calls from clients, supply chain partners, and field engineers.
- Log client work orders from initial enquiry to job completion.
- Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials necessary to complete work orders within budget
- Raising Purchase Orders
- Ensure that records are updated and filed appropriately
- Follow-up status (Client/Job Updates) of works-in-progress and ensure the customer helpdesk is fully updated
- Undertake general administrative duties as required – Office support where needed
Required skills
Min 2 years experience in a Facilities Maintenance helpdesk environment.
- Great communication skills.
- The ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to work under my own initiative and self-motivation.
- A keen eye for detail and organisation.
- Team Player
