Murray Building Services set to celebrate a major milestone
1999 was a year to remember as the last of the century. The impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton concluded, and the Space Shuttle Discovery became the first vessel to dock with the International Space Station. The third Harry Potter book was published, Britney Spears ‘Baby One More Time’ hit the charts, and Star Wars Episode 1 was released.
It was also a year when a lesser-known event occurred in the North West. Andy Murray formed Murray Building Services (MBS) to provide first-class, professional mechanical engineering services to the building industry.
As Murray Building Services celebrates its 25th-year milestone, we can reflect on its success. MBS has secured many impressive contracts and worked alongside numerous well-known construction organisations, culminating in a projected 24/25 group turnover in excess of 11m.
Andy Murray plans to mark the occasion in style with his team in June, and we will keep you updated on that exciting event in our next update.

Maintenance update:
The maintenance division, headed up by Martin Smith, continues to deliver high standards and quality service to its long-standing clients and is on course to achieve this year’s growth target with a forecasted y/e turnover of £4m. This includes a mixture of reactive, planned, remedial, and life cycle works.
The division may be looking for a new multiskilled engineer and possible apprentice, pending a number of new contract wins that are currently in the pipeline.
New starters:
We are delighted to welcome Courtney Tomlinson to the contracts division as a plumber’s mate with a view to starting a college course as an adult apprentice in September. Courtney has hit the ground running and has been very hands-on with all manner of site works on her first job at the Blackburn College Pipework replacement scheme.
