MAINTENANCE UPDATE
Big Change
BigChange continues to expand with additional processes being added, including increased PPM reports, new job cards and improved workflows.
Lifecycle projects and summer works are fully on the way, with lots planned for plant improvements, efficiencies, and longevity—all of which will minimise clients’ risk of failure while keeping sites operational.
Service Performance Reviews
Review meetings have taken place with EWFM, LCC and WCHG to capture our service performance and review future works/projects – feedback is very positive from all.
EWFM
From 1st April, MBS Maintenance commenced a new PPM programme based on SFG20 for EWFM. Systems and processes are being reviewed and adapted regularly to ensure completion targets are achieved.
New Team Member
Due to continued growth, we welcomed new starter Sam Garner to the maintenance team.
Sam starts with MBS on July 15th and will be trained to work on the service desk alongside Jack and Mike, assisting in reactive and planned works delivery.

Murray’s attends charity boxing event
Murray Building Services supports several local charities including the Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone, a charity that works hard to transform lives and provide vital opportunities for the young people of the area.
The charity held its first Annual Boxing Event at King Georges Hall on 17th May and was attended by over 450 enthusiastic supporters including the management team at Murray’s. Read more about the event here.
Simon Turner retires after 22 years
It’s the end of an era for the management and staff at Murray’s as they prepare to say goodbye to Design Director Simon Turner, who plans to retire after 22 years of service.
When Simon joined Murray’s in 2002, The company had seven people on the payroll and a turnover of £382k.
Simon has played a significant role in growing Murray Building Services to the £8M business it is today, and as a result, both the Contract and Maintenance divisions are now firmly established in the North-West.
