About Us

Established in 1999, Murray Building Services is an expanding commercial and industrial building services and maintenance company with an expected group turnover of around £10 million in 2024.

With over 50 employees, secured framework contracts, and continued growth, we are now seeking an additional Senior Pipe Fitter with experience and relevant qualifications covering the Lancashire and Greater Manchester areas.

Senior Pipe Fitter/Plumber

About You

  • Possess good experience in the installation of commercial LPHW, CHW, Gas, H&C water pipework systems.
  • Able to install new and replacement boiler plant rooms in steel and copper
  • Good experience in plumbing and above-ground drainage.
  • Possess good coordination and space awareness skills
  • Have a good understanding of associated building services trades, including ventilation, air conditioning, insulation etc,
  • Possess good communication skills to liaise with site construction teams
  • Be familiar with working in commercial, educational, healthcare and similar environments
  • Good experience reading and understanding drawings and supervising/directing other team members and sub-contractors

Experienced Commercial Gas Engineer (Breakdown)

About You

  • Experience conducting diagnostic, service and maintenance. Basic installations for commercial plants, HVAC, and mechanical building services.
  • Able to find faults and repair commercial plant room equipment, i.e.boilers, pumps, valves, vessels, etc.
  • Conduct gas servicing in accordance with manufacturers/industry guidelines.
  • Proficient with boilers, pumps, valves AHUs, fan coils, pipework, burners, controls etc.
  • Electrical control knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Oil experience would be an advantage along with LPG.
  • Preferred but not essential experience in renewables (Ground/Air source heat pumps/systems)
  • You would be working within facilities such as commercial, corporate, industrial, retail and governmental (Schools/NHS/Public Buildings)

Successful applicants will be expected to be part of the company’s on-call rota system.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
  • ACS Qualifications   CCN1, CPA1, CEN1, HTR1, WAT1, CKR1, CONLPGPD, CODC1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CORT1, CDGA1
  • Unvented Cylinders
  • Current Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good numeracy and literacy
  • Good time management
  • Good knowledge of the current industry
  • You would need to undergo a DBS check
