QUARTER 2 UPDATE
Murray Building Services celebrated a major milestone this quarter, marking 25 years of success with a spectacular event on Saturday 28th June at the Village Hotel, Bury.Managing Director Andy Murray welcomed staff, retired colleagues, family, friends, and valued clients, including Simon Turner, who retired last year after playing a key part in the business’s success.

The evening was a celebration of all those who have shaped the company over the years.The night began with a lively drinks reception, where a magician entertained guests as they arrived and had their photos taken.This was followed by a delicious three-course meal, fine wine, and live music that created a fantastic atmosphere.After dinner, Andy gave heartfelt thanks to the people who have contributed to MBS’s success over the years. A special moment came with the presentation of a long-service award to Kris Speakes, celebrating 20 years of dedicated service.The 25th-anniversary celebration marked a fitting tribute to the hard work, commitment, and community spirit that have driven Murray Building Services to a projected 2024/25 group turnover exceeding £11 million.

Frog Lane Health Centre, Wigan, Essential building services completed to support healthcare operations and Tameside Hospital Discharge Room, Refurbishment works enhancing patient care facilities.
MAINTENANCE UPDATE
During Q2, the Maintenance team continued to deliver consistent performance across ongoing contracts. While this quarter did not include any major public-facing social value activities, the team remained focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Training & Development:
Significant investment has been made in staff development, with engineers engaging in various courses through an interactive CPD (Continuing Professional Development) portal.
This ongoing learning supports both individual growth and service quality.·
Operational Improvements:
We continue to streamline our processes through BigChange, with a new Health & Safety workflow due to be rolled out shortly—further enhancing compliance and efficiency across the business.
Team Update:
Staffing levels in the Maintenance division have remained steady. New Starter: Harry Morral, a time-served craftsperson, will join the team on July 12th. Harry will be working alongside Andy Macnay on the Earlestown Town Hall project.
Looking ahead, we are planning to recruit a mechanical apprentice from September to further strengthen the team and invest in future skills.
Pipeline & Prospects:
We have several promising opportunities with new clients in the pipeline. While it’s early days, we remain optimistic about growth in the coming months.
