Spring Summer update
As we move through spring and summer, it’s been another busy and positive period for everyone at Murray Building Services.
We continue to see a strong pipeline of opportunities across the North West, working alongside both long-standing partners and new clients. What’s particularly pleasing is the variety of projects we’re being trusted to deliver – from healthcare and blue-light facilities to commercial, leisure and public-sector buildings.
Our focus remains the same: delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical building services, building strong relationships with our clients and construction partners, and providing the dependable service that MBS has built its reputation on.
Alongside our project work, our Maintenance Division continues to grow, supporting clients beyond project completion with planned preventative maintenance, compliance, servicing and responsive support. For us, it’s about being a long-term building services partner, not simply delivering a project and moving on.
I want to thank the whole MBS team for their continued hard work and commitment, as well as our clients, contractors, consultants and supply-chain partners for their continued support.

Project completions for the period
Alongside a healthy pipeline of new project wins, the spring and summer period has seen the MBS team successfully bring several projects to completion.
Each completed scheme reflects the hard work that takes place both on site and behind the scenes – from design coordination and procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover. Strong relationships with our clients, principal contractors, consultants and supply-chain partners remain central to delivering projects successfully.

Team news for the period
Team Conquers the National Three Peaks Challenge
It was a fantastic achievement for the MBS team as colleagues completed the National Three Peaks Challenge, taking on the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales while raising thousands of pounds for charity.
The challenge tested endurance, determination and teamwork as the team tackled Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) – qualities that are just as important in our day-to-day work at MBS!
Most importantly, the challenge generated an incredible response from colleagues, clients, partners, friends and family, with the fundraising total reaching over £8,000.
The funds are supporting worthwhile causes, including Alder Hey Children’s Charity and the Christie Charity.
The team received a personal message of thanks from the charities, recognising both the scale of the fundraising and the difference the donations will make.
A big thank you also goes to Bus and Coach World, whose support in providing campervans for the weekend helped keep the team moving between the three mountains.
Congratulations to Andy, Jack, James, Andy and Sam for taking on the challenge and completing an achievement the whole MBS team can be proud of. Thank you, too, to everybody who donated, supported and encouraged the team along the way.
It was about much more than reaching three summits – it brought colleagues together, tested the team outside their comfort zones and, most importantly, raised a fantastic amount for charity.
Celebrating the People Behind MBS
Projects and growth matter, but MBS’s continued success ultimately comes down to our people.
The team recently came together for an evening at Shajan Indian Restaurant to recognise four very special milestones.
Jack McCaughey, Contracts Director, and Tracey Bradshaw, Finance Director, both celebrated an impressive 20 years with Murray Building Services. Their combined 40 years of service represent a tremendous contribution to the business’s development and success.
The evening also provided an opportunity to celebrate two landmark birthdays, with Simon Bradshaw, Electrical Maintenance Manager, turning 40, and Angela Smith, Office Manager, celebrating her 60th.
It was a great evening and an opportunity to recognise the people behind the business. Congratulations and thank you to Jack, Tracey, Simon and Angela for everything they continue to bring to MBS.
Supporting Our Clients Beyond Project Completion
While new project wins and successful completions continue to strengthen the MBS portfolio, our Maintenance Division is an increasingly important part of the business.
Our maintenance team works with clients to help keep their buildings, assets and critical M&E systems operating safely, reliably and efficiently.
From planned preventative maintenance and statutory compliance to servicing, repairs, and responsive support, our approach centres on developing long-term relationships and giving clients access to a building services team they know and trust.
Our combined project and maintenance capabilities enable MBS to support clients throughout the lifecycle of a building – from initial installation and commissioning through to ongoing operation, maintenance and future upgrades.
It’s another area of the business where we see significant opportunities for continued growth.
Moving from strength to strength
As Managing Director, I’m incredibly proud of what the MBS team continues to achieve.
This update gives a real snapshot of where the business is today – new projects coming through the door, completed schemes being successfully handed over, our Maintenance Division continuing to develop and, importantly, a team that supports one another both inside and outside of work.
Seeing members of our team reach 20-year milestones is particularly rewarding. Long service like that says a great deal about the culture we have built at MBS and the people who have helped shape the business over the years. Equally, watching colleagues take on the Three Peaks Challenge and raise such a fantastic amount for charity shows the determination, teamwork and community spirit that runs throughout the company.
We have plenty to look forward to, and we’ll continue investing in our people, strengthening relationships with our clients and construction partners, and delivering the quality of service that people have come to expect from MBS.
Thank you to every member of the team, and to our clients, contractors, consultants and supply-chain partners for their continued trust and support.
