Murray Building Services Raises £10,000+ in Three Peaks Challenge

Alderhey Cheque Presentation from Three PEaks Challenge

The team at Murray Building Services has successfully completed the National Three Peaks Challenge, raising just over £10,000 for charity, including Gift Aid.

Taking on one of the UK’s best-known endurance challenges, the MBS team climbed the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales – Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) – putting their fitness, determination and teamwork to the test.

It was a demanding challenge, but one that demonstrated many of the qualities we value at Murray Building Services: teamwork, resilience, commitment and supporting one another to get the job done.

The weekend was made possible with the support of Bus and Coach World, who kindly provided campervans for the challenge, helping the team travel between the three mountains and keep everything moving throughout the weekend.

Raising thousands for two important causes

Most importantly, the challenge was an opportunity to raise vital funds for two charities close to the hearts of the team – Alder Hey Children’s Charity and The Christie Charity.

Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, clients, supply chain partners, friends and family, the fundraising total reached just over £10,000, including Gift Aid.

A significant share of the money raised will support Alder Hey Children’s Charity and its work helping children, young people and their families.

Following the challenge, Paula Parle, Community Fundraiser at Alder Hey Children’s Charity, congratulated the team on the achievement and thanked everyone involved for their support.

Paula said: “We are blown away! These funds will make such an impact here for our brave young children.”

Funds raised for The Christie Charity will support its Cancer Appeal Fund, which allows the charity to direct funding to areas of greatest need across the hospital, including priority projects and groundbreaking research.

John Ashley, Corporate Fundraising Manager at The Christie Charity, thanked the team in a letter dated 6 October 2026: “Raising this money is a great achievement and everyone involved should be very proud.

“It is the continued passion, loyalty, and enthusiasm of businesses like yours that ultimately brings us a step closer to a future without cancer.”

The National Three Peaks Challenge was about far more than reaching three summits. It gave colleagues the opportunity to come together outside of the workplace, push themselves beyond their comfort zones and, most importantly, make a meaningful contribution to charities providing vital support to people and families across our communities.

Huge congratulations go to Andy, Jack, James, Andy and Sam who took on the challenge and demonstrated the determination, teamwork and community spirit that runs through Murray Building Services.

We would also like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who donated. The support of our clients, colleagues, contractors, suppliers, friends and families helped the team surpass its fundraising target and turn a tough weekend in the mountains into something that will make a lasting difference.

A special mention also goes to John and Martin, who took on the driving duties and supported the team throughout the challenge. With three mountains to tackle and plenty of miles to cover, their contribution was invaluable in keeping everyone moving safely between locations. They were very much part of the team effort, and we’re grateful for their time, commitment and support.

Finally, thank you to Bus and Coach World for supporting the team and helping to make the weekend possible.

Congratulations to the team – three mountains conquered, over £10,000 raised and two fantastic charities supported.
